LDA - Importing Tasks

Purpose

Tasks for a Project are imported into the LDA using agreed templates in a CSV format. This guide explains the procedure for doing this.


Finding the Project

Locate the Project you wish to import tasks for by using the search facility within the Projects tab. Click on Details:




Importing the CSV File

Click on Import Tasks button located in the top right hand side of the screen.

Import your CSV by clicking Browse and locate the template to be used:



There are a number of columns in the template that the LDA will accept:

Level

A number indicating the level of the task.

Task

The description of the task.

Status

The status of the task being loaded.

Duration

The default duration of the task.

Owner

The default owner of the task.

Optional

Yes/No. This indicator is used to determine whether the task is mandatory or not.

Schedule

The type of task – either sequence or parallel.

Type

The type of task – either Stage or Task.

Milestone

Yes/No. This indicator is used to determine whether the task is a Major or Minor Milestone.

At Risk

Yes/No. This indicator is used to determine whether the task is at risk or not.

Pre Conditions

Any pre conditions which must be complete prior to this task being allowed to commence.

Post Conditions

Any post conditions which must be complete prior to this task being allowed to commence.


Pivoting the Project

The next stage is to pivot the project so that all milestone and tasks dates are populated correctly. The project can be pivoted on Project Start Date, Project End Date or on a specific task by using the Pivot Point dropdown:



Click Save to pivot the project. A confirmation message will be received to notify you that is has been successfully pivoted.
