If you are prompted for Multi Factor Authentication but do not have access to the number that the authentication code is being sent to, you can change it manually by following the instructions below.
Go to office.com and sign in with your email address and laptop password. Click on your account in the top right hand corner:
Next, click 'view account' which will open in a separate tab:
In the Security Info section, click 'update info':
In the Phone section, click 'change' to edit the number:
Change the number as required, click Next and follow the on-screen instructions:
