There are 2 methods present in this article. Method 1 is preferred and easier, but Method 2 is a useful backup in the event that Method 1 fails
Note - This does not include the PDF to Word conversion in Adobe Acrobat Pro, as not all staff members will have the Pro license required to unlock this feature
Method 1
Open up the PDF24 application and select Convert PDF to ...
Click Choose files and then find the PDF file you wish to convert. Click Open
The file should then be ready to convert in PDF24. In the Format dropdown, click on Word (.docx). Once selected, click convert, wait (takes up to a few minutes depending on size of file & formatting)
Once converted, click save and then save to your desired location, such as the same folder that the PDF file was in
Method 2
Step 1 - Open Word and browse to the PDF you want to edit and click open
You'll get a warning that looks like the below. Just click ok
Step 2 - Enable Editing on the Document
In some circumstances (especially if this is a document that you have not created) you'll need to enable editing. Click the button shown below
IMPORTANT - Please only click this button if you trust where it came from. If in doubt please ask!
The same error message as previously shown will appear once again - just click ok again
Step 3 - Make your changes
Since it's now briefly a word document you can use normal word as normal to make the required changes
Step 4 - Re-saving as a PDF
Once ready to convert back into a PDF, at the top click on the Save icon and a 'Save As' popup window will appear. On the 'Save as Type' dropdown select PDF and then find the file you are editing and click to ensure it has been selected:
Click Save on this and then the file will re re-saved as a PDF with the same name. It will then open for preview in your PDF viewer (usually Acrobat). With the changes saved you now have a PDF file with the same name and the changes you have just made
