Remote Working using the VPN

In order to access the X or H drive when working from home or out on sites, you will need to connect to the Story Homes network using a VPN. The VPN software is pre-installed on your laptop. 

There are 2 types of VPN that we use, Watchguard (mobile VPN with SSL client) and SH IKEv2. Some home broadband providers block use of the IKEv2 VPN, therefore if this is the case then you'll need to use Watchguard

Note - Frequent incorrect logins will cause the VPN to lock you out for 24 hours. After 2 unsuccessful attempts to connect to the VPN, please contact IT support for assistance

Connecting to SHE IKEv2 

To connect to this VPN, click on the internet or wifi icon on the task bar on your laptop:

When the pop-up appears, click on VPN at the top:

Select SH IKEv2 and then click Connect:

If prompted, please enter your username and current laptop password. If you are unsure of what your username is, please contact IT Support.

Connecting to Watchguard

To connect to Watchguard, double click on the icon as below:

Once opened, The server address should be vpn.storyhomes.co.uk:8444 - your username is not your email address, but the identifying name of your account. If unsure, you can find your username in Settings --> Accounts --> Your info

The password is your current laptop password. It should look similar to the below:
