Setting Your Regular Work Location in Outlook
- Open Outlook: Go to Outlook for Windows.
- Access Calendar Settings:
- Click on the gear icon (Settings) at the top right corner.
- Select “View all Outlook settings” at the bottom of the settings pane.
- Navigate to Calendar > Work hours and location.
- Set Work Hours and Location:
- Check the boxes for the days you want to set your work hours and location.
- Use the dropdown menus to select your work hours and specify your location for each day (e.g., “Remote,” “In the office”).
- Save Settings: Click “Save” to apply your changes.
- Quick Updates: You can also make quick changes directly from your Outlook calendar by selecting the work location icon next to the date and updating your location as needed.
If your Outlook doesn’t have those options try these steps instead:
- Open Outlook: Launch the Outlook application on your computer.
- Access Calendar Settings:
- Click on the File tab in the top left corner.
- Select Options from the menu.
- Navigate to Calendar Options:
- In the Outlook Options window, click on Calendar in the left-hand menu.
- Set Work Hours and Location:
- Click the button for Work hours and location.
- Here, you can set your work hours by specifying the start and end times for each day and add the location, Office or Remote for each day.
Manually Set Your Work Location in Microsoft Teams
If you are working in a different location than in your usual pattern you can manually change your location in Teams
- Open Teams: Launch the Microsoft Teams app on your desktop.
- Access Profile Settings: Click on your profile picture at the top right corner.
- Set Work Location:
- Next to your status, you will see a dropdown menu for your work location.
- Choose your work location from the options available (e.g., “Working remotely,” “In the office”).
- Update as Needed: You can update or clear your work location anytime by following the same steps.
