Installing the Carlisle plotter

From the bottom search bar on your laptop search for Printer and then open Printers & Scanners

Note - If you are re-installing the plotter because of an issue you may first need to remove the faulty installation. To do this, please see below. If you are installing for the first time, skip to the line beginning with 'On the new window'

Once this is open, click into the Plotter (HP PageWide XL 4100PS) and then a new menu should appear. Click on the Remove button to completely get rid of the Plotter from your laptop

On the new window click the Printers & Scanners menu and then the blue Add device button

Give it a few seconds and then click Add a new device manually (even though the plotter shows as discovered we need to manually add it)

Select the 4th option & click Next

Change the Device Type to TCP/IP Device & set the Hostname or IP address to 10.2.0.56. Do not worry about the Port name. Keep the Query tickbox ticked. Click Next

You should now be presented with a screen to select the Printer Driver. The correct driver should be in the HP section called HP PageWide XL 4100PS MFP PDF v4. If you do not have this option, click the Windows Update button which will begin a scan for the correct Drivers and then should populate the list with the desired option. Click Next once selected

Replace the current driver

Keep the printer name the same

Do not share this printer

At this point you can print a test page or finish the installation

Once finished, when you go to print a document you should now see the option in the dropdown menu. You should also now see it in the Printers & scanners list
