How to generate a TeamViewer password

Modified on Tue, 7 Jan at 9:45 AM

On some occassions TeamViewer will only provide you with an ID and not an associated password. This password is required for IT support to be able to remotely connect to your laptop so it's important that we force TeamViewer to generate this so that you can provide it along with the ID

In the search bar at the bottom type in Team and then the TeamViewer application should appear

From here open the settings (cog wheel icon) and ensure the following setting under Security looks like so:

Click OK and then you should now see a newly-generated password under your ID (yours might show in blue instead of grey)

You'll need to share both of these things with IT support for them to connect. The Password changes itself every few hours for security purposes
