Sometimes when a sim card stops working in either a router or a mobile phone, manually selecting the network provider can resolve the issue. This guide is applicable to most Samsung phones which we have such as the A20, A34, A35, M23 etc:
- If the sim card is in a router, remove it and put it into a mobile phone
- On the phone go in to Settings and Connections:
- Tap 'Mobile Networks' and select 'Network Operators':
- Toggle the 'Select Automatically' slider to 'Off':
- Wait while your phone scans available networks, this can take a few minutes
- Select the appropriate network from the list that appears:
- Wait while it connects and registers, you may get a confirmation message on the screen once this is complete
- Once it has connected, turn the 'Select Automatically' slider back to 'On' and return to the home screen
- Put the sim card back in to the router, wait a few minutes and then test the connection again
